Private house in Barnes, London. Works included traditional orangery style rear extension and refurbishment of the interior with new bespoke kitchen furniture.

The existing greenhouse extension would overheat in the summer and be too cold in the winter. The decision to opt for a more solid orangery style extension allowed us to play with the volume and hierarchy of the spaces created at the rear of the house. The new window seat and dining area projects further into the garden than the neighbouring lounge area, whilst also being taller to further delineate the internal spaces. This produces a subtle zoning of the interior whilst maintaining an open, light and bright feel to the multifunctional room.
